Analysing qualitative data can be challenging for novice researchers and is best summarised by Silverman : ‘You have gathered your interviews, selected your documents or made some observations. Now what do you do?’ . There are many different ways to analyse data and decisions about which analytical approach to choose from can be challenging. The paper will introduce a number of analytical approaches from different research traditions and introduce how they can be employed when analysing qualitative data. In addition, the benefits of utilising computer assisted technology to complete qualitative data analysis will be presented.
