We present the case of a 65‐year‐old gentleman with anacute large bowel obstruction. The patient had a knownmetastatic colon cancer at the splenic flexure and had a palliativestent inserted 1 year prior. A computerized tomography scandemonstrated an abrupt transition point at the level of the splenicflexure lesion and a competent ileocaecal valve. Stent placementcan be a minimally invasive option for acute colonicdecompression in obstructing tumors and an alternative tosurgery. 1 It can offer effective palliation with a low proceduralcomplication rate when performed by an experienced endosco-pist. 2 This case was performed in the emergency theater undergeneral anesthetic in the left lateral position
