•Several conditions may mimic Genetic Generalized Epilepsy GGE.
•GGE is less frequently misdiagnosed compared to other subtypes of epilepsy.
•KBG syndrome is a rare autosomal dominant condition.
•KBG syndrome may mimic GGE.
