Hypothesis: Based on my interest in the Circle of Willis, anecdotal knowledge of the devastation stroke and above review of the medical literature I formed the following hypothesis which allowed me to consolidate the aims of this research work and thesis.

That based on a cadaveric dissection morphological variation in the Circle of Willis would be identified in an Irish Cohort. I also hypothesized that an incomplete circle of Willis would be identified in up to 50% of all specimens and cerebral aneurysm may also be identified.
